Right b4 the big macro ban of june 21 they had been skyrocketing. I even predicted they would hit 5 or 6 hundred mil in time. I still think that might have occured if not for the Big Ban (lol 'Big Ban' I'm soooo funnah!!! ^^).
With that much plex buyers lost who didn't care about PLEX pricing at all (and why should they?) prices rapidly crashed. After that the PLEX market became remarkably stable. Stable with a slow downward trend that is.
PLEX'es are now cheaper then ever and from what I've seen in several regions they are about to lose a few million isk worth more.
So, any thoughts on the subject? Besides the "supply and demand" argument Is this still just the market adjusting to the banning of the botters? If so, WHY is it taking months and months and months? Did ppl get richer and don't mind spending more RL money on less virtual money? Are the reptillians doing this? I want answers ppl!
Only people buying plexes at the inflated (yes, inflated) prices were the macros. Real players stopped buying GTC's/Plexes when they topped about 200mil for 30 days. Most people just aren't willing to kick out that kind of isk for 30 days of game time.
30day GTC's used to go for 80-90 million isk just a few years ago (late 2006), 90 day GTC's ran about 180-250mil. Those prices were sustainable 'back in the day' because people didn't mind paying that ammt. of isk for time. Even when they spiked to over 120mil for a 30 day and about 300mil for a 90 it was still 'ok' as it translated to about 100mil a month or so... which folks didn't mind, and could afford. Many players, however, have a VERY hard time making a profitable enough income, after expenses, to blow 260+ million isk for just 30 days of playtime.
Simple supply and demand. Supply is super high, demand is low. Prices go down.
